Washington: Acclaimed Hollywood actor Harrison Ford, who portrays the US President in the highly anticipated Marvel film Captain America: Brave New World, recently opened up about his approach to the role. Ford revealed that he sought an “emotional problem and an emotional reality” to resolve within the framework of the film’s narrative.
Previously, Ford had expressed enthusiasm about the role’s political intrigue and action-packed dynamics. The veteran actor, known for his iconic performances in Indiana Jones and Star Wars, spoke about how his character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) aligns with the franchise’s mix of high-stakes storytelling and thrilling action.

“Yes, it has a lot of the political thriller aspect to it and then some fabulous additions, which spice it up and bring it into the Marvel context,” Ford said. He emphasized how Captain America: Brave New World masterfully weaves together an engrossing storyline with action-driven sequences. “However, the character tale is also quite emotionally charged,” he added.
Speaking further about his portrayal, Ford explained, “The President role was something I was looking for that had an emotional reality and an emotional issue that he could work through in the context of the overall story. The Marvel characters themselves certainly have wonderfully interesting aspects of their personalities.” He also noted the importance of including human behavior and background information to balance out the film’s spectacular action set pieces.
